The latest generation of HP DesignJet models require the printer’s admin password stored in Printerpoint to enable full functionality.
The printer’s default admin password is located on a sticker on the back panel of the printer, however this may have been changed by a technician during the initial configuration.
To enter the password in Printerpoint, click on the printer, then click on the edit icon above the Printer Details box. Click the advanced tab and enter the password in the HP admin password field.
It can take up to five minutes for Printerpoint to check in with the printer to verify that it successfully connected.
Before entering the password, only basic details about the printer (serial number, firmware version, model name, etc) and Printerpoint Connect access are available. Once the password is entered, full Printerpoint functionality is supported.
Models that require admin password entry:
- DesignJet XL 3800
- DesignJet XL X3800
- DesignJet T950
- DesignJet T850
- DesignJet XT950
Please note that HP firmware version 6.25.x or higher and Printerpoint Agent version 6.3.1 is required for this feature.
