Canon GP, TX, TM, TA, TZ and iPF PRO series printers require a configuration change to support the
following billing methods or use media inventory management:
- Paper and ink usage
- Ink coverage
- Duty Counters
If your printer is affected by this issue, a status alert will show in Printerpoint that says "Cannot read job log - Check Job History Sending Setting"
To resolve this, from the panel of your printer, follow these steps:
- Log in with administrative rights
- Click "Printer Settings" or "Device Settings" (depending on model)
- Click "Other Printer Settings"
- Click "Job History Sending Setting"
- Change from "Do Not Send" to "Send"
This affects all GP, TX, TM, TA, TZ and iPF PRO Series printers from Canon.
There is a second setting that, while not set by default, if changed, will also prevent the job log from being created. If enabling the job history sending setting does not resolve the issue, verify that the job log is not restricted:
- Log in with administrative rights
- Click "Printer Settings" or "Device Settings" (depending on model)
- Click "Other Printer Settings"
- Click "Operation Restrictions"
- Click "Job History"
- Change from "Restricted to "Not Restricted"
